MICHAEL B. WEST, CPA

I started MW Tax and Consulting, LLC in March 2024 after working with DWC CPAs and Advisors (formerly Dalby, Wendland & Co., P.C.) for almost 20 years. I joined the firm in September 2004 and became a Tax Principal within the Glenwood Springs office in 2017. At MW Tax and Consulting I strive to bring my years of knowledge, experience, and resources to help guide you through your financial and tax decisions.

20 YEARS EXPERIENCE

I have developed experience in the areas of business and individual taxation and extended my skills to business and individual consulting, business projections and forecasts, and income tax and estate tax planning. I enjoy working with clients that reflect a variety of industries including healthcare, real estate development, lodging, and recreation. I am proactive with my clients and work to help them understand their financial decisions and associated tax implications.

2003 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado with a bachelor of arts degree in Accounting and Business Administration

PERSONAL

I grew up on the Western Slope of Colorado in Montrose and was active in athletics from a young age participating in football, basketball, and track through high school. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play football at Western State College for 5 years and then went on to play for one season in Finland before settling into a professional career of accounting. I married my high school love, Lindsay, in December 2004 and have been blessed with two sons Parker and Jaxson. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy watching my kids participate in their extracurricular activities, family movie nights, and traveling with my family.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

I enjoy living in the Roaring Fork Valley and strongly believe in being active in the community. I am active in organizations that benefit our communities. I currently serve as a board member for the Two Rivers Community Foundation and previously served in the same role for Advocate Safehouse Project and YouthZone. I have also been a volunteer youth coach for New Castle Recreation teams, the Colorado River Valley Little League, and Mountain West Youth Football. Currently I serve as the Head Football Coach at Glenwood Springs High School.
